Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actress and singer whose acting range earned her popular acclaim in a variety of genres from period drama to action and thriller. Johansson is the daughter of a film producer as well as an architect. Her family was based in New York City. Hunter Her twin brother and She were both the youngest out of four children. When she was just seven year old, she started making auditions for TV commercials. After that, she was enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and then went to the Professional Children's School in Manhattan to further hone her craft. Johansson made her debut a film actress in North (1994) when she was nine. At eight, she appeared with Ethan Hawke on Off-Broadway in Sophistry. Johansson then appeared on screen in Just Cause, but she made her debut with Manny & Lo, a film about siblings left behind by their parents who escape. The film received praise for her performance as a teenage girl who suffered a disfiguring accident in The Horse Whisperer (1998) and gained more attention for her role as the cynical teenage outcast Rebecca on the set of Ghost World (2001).
