It wasn't possible for The Runaways to become an overnight success in the United States, however, they enjoyed a great deal of popularity in other countries, particularly Japan. Ford's solo metal career was successful after the 1979 band breakup. Ford began to take voice classes shortly after releasing her debut album 'Dancin' at the Edge'. The albums of Ford were not particularly successful, so she disappeared for a few years. In 1988, she returned into the spotlight thanks to her smash album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly was her biggest hit, as were the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. The problem was that her popularity was brief as she disappeared from the industry for several years. Her 'Black" album came out in 1995, and she followed it with her "Wicked Wonderland" released almost fifteen years after. The album "Time Capsule" was released in the year 2016 by her. Her name was awarded The Certified Guitar Legend Award from the Guitar Player Magazine.
